RURAL REGENERATION in PARKERVILLE

Native, water-efficient planting creates an inviting, restful landscape that encourages relaxation and enjoyment.

This 1.6-acre rural residential property has been thoughtfully revitalised from a neglected, previously tenanted landscape while preserving the distinctive post-modern character of the original garden. Guided by a clear long-term vision and considered stewardship, the project applies regenerative practices through weed management, revegetation, ecological restoration, and integrated productive food systems. The resulting landscape delivers significant gains in biodiversity, habitat creation, ecological function, and resilience to bushfire risk and climate change. Through strategic direction and ongoing custodianship, it provides exceptional sustainability benefits while supporting the wellbeing and evolving needs of an active young family.

URBAN MICROFOREST in COTTESLOE

A once-underutilised walled front garden in Cottesloe has been transformed into a cool, immersive urban microforest, creating a sheltered refuge from traffic, noise + the surrounding streetscape. Dense, predominantly native planting provides shade, filters air pollutants + supports biodiversity, while helping mitigate urban heat as the canopy matures. Thirteen trees across six species establish a layered forest structure suited to the site’s sandy soils and coastal climate. Key endemic species provide habitat and foraging resources for Carnaby’s Cockatoo, while strategically placed Casuarina creates a calming natural soundscape. Together, the planting + design create a resilient, biodiverse and restorative landscape that reconnects the home with nature.

VERGE REWILDING IN KARRINYUP

A previously underutilised irrigated lawn verge has been transformed into a diverse native landscape that enriches the streetscape + supports both community and ecology. A layered planting palette of endemic trees + shrubs responds to the local climate + nutrient-poor Cottesloe sandy soils, creating a resilient landscape with minimal soil improvement. Native planting provides habitat + seasonal interest, including foraging resources for Carnaby’s Cockatoo, while maturing street trees will provide shade + help mitigate urban heat. Carefully considered sightlines maintain connections to the bushland reserve opposite, while strategic planting balances openness, privacy + natural surveillance, creating a safer, more connected public realm.
